Andy Donato was born in Scarborough, a suburb of Toronto, Canada. As a syndicated cartoonist and art director for the TORONTO SUN, he often sketches and photographs historical events, providing a visual record of the 20th century for future generations.

One-man shows featuring Donato’s work have taken place in Canada, New York and London. Donato was selected by the National Hockey League and Circle Fine Art to illustrate the highlights of the Stanley Cup competition for the 1977 Official Fine Art Sports Collection of lithographs.
