Carbonell (1968–)

Carbonell was born in Alicante, Spain in 1968. He started his studies in the Fine Art School in Alicante and finished his career in the Fine Art School in Valencia. His brush-strokes are dense and daring. He plays with contrasts and hot colors, endowing his figures a great expressivity.

Carbonell has taken part in several Mediterranean collective exhibitions and his work has also been shown in individual exhibitions in:

  • Sala Braulio – Castellón, Spain
  • Galeria Quatro – Valencia, Spain
  • Galeria V. Berna – Valencia, Spain
  • Mondiza Art – Lisboa, Portugal

For Carbonell, painting reflects a need to express himself; it is an opportunity for his imagination to fly free over a landscape, into the hidden corners of a patio, to see the figures in a garden without being seen, to spy on the play of light over flowers, to contemplate it all, assimilate it and then paint it. He dedicates himself honestly and sincerely to painting. He is a young painter, but with mature artistic expression. He studies his models very carefully and is an artist who observes and analyses forms, captures gestures and feelings, color and all its tonalities, contrasts and nuances, in a way that enriches his work, with confident brushstrokes, and touches that are full of the wisdom. This makes it possible for him to situate color in precisely the right place. In this way, he reflects the reality he so loves and that is always present in his works as the origin and the force behind his creative motivation. His feminine figures are full of light, swathed in romanticism, with faces reflecting calm and silence, intense feelings, solitary meditation and a sensation of sheltering protection.
