Debra Dubac (1961–)

Over ten years ago, Debra Dubac was overwhelmed with a sudden desire to move to Alaska, and so she headed north. Though it was certain that Alaska was where she should be, the reason at first was not clear. As time progressed, fate explained itself and the “picture” for Debra became perfectly clear.

The Alaska arena seemed only fitting for artist/designer, Debra Dubac. For as long as she can recall, art, animals and nature have been her love. Hence, it was no coincidence that Dubac acquired a deep passion for Alaska and its magnificent natural resources. Today, Alaska is a continuous inspiration for Dubac, whose paintings represent colorful expressions of perhaps the most admired wildlife and nature in the world.

Debra Dubac is no stranger to the professional world of art, where she has consistently made a living using her talents. She studied art at the University of Georgia and received her degree in Biological Illustration. Extensive research and accuracy are critical requirements for each of Dubac’s works. Acrylics, watercolor, gouache and serigraphy/lithography are the mediums she uses to create her rich, realistic translations of fauna, flora and the preserved environment.

Through her art, Dubac wants to make an awareness of the beauty that decorates and supports our lives as humans. In turn, we will hopefully understand our crucial responsibility to cherish, honor and protect these precious gifts of nature for the generations that follow, and for eternity.
