Eljay Torger
Eljay's paintings are collected all over the world. One-person and group shows in San Francisco, St. Thomas, New York and Ft. Lauderdale have featured her watercolors and acrylics and oils on canvas. At Stanford University, she graduated Phi Beta Kappa, majoring in Philosophy, Art and Drama. At The College of Arts and Crafts in Berkley, she graduated in Painting and Art History.
Eljay's business careers include publishing five weekly newspapers and executive positions in marketing and sales with American Express, The San Francisco Visitors and Conventions Bureau, The San Francisco Embarcadero Center Executive Offices, and Grubb and Ellis Real Estate Company. For three years, she hosted and created a weekly TV program called "Entertainment and the Arts" on a CBS affiliate.
Eljay's paintings are part of the Chase Manhattan Bank Collection in New York. The cover of the 1984 Virgin Islands Telephone Book displayed her tropical imagery.
