Tom Ray

Tom Ray began his career as an apprentice in-betweener at Leon Schlesinger Studios in 1937. His more than 60 years of experience in the animation business have included animation and direction work for the great names in cartoon and filmmaking: MGM Studios, Warner Brothers, John Sutherland Studios (industrial films), Chuck Jones, Hanna-Barbera, Marvel Productions, Walt Disney Television (including 101 Dalmatians), Sony Pictures (including Men In Black), Nickelodeon and Saban Entertainment.

When Tom worked at Warner Bros., he animated an amazing forty-three (43) theatrical shorts, and was a Director at MGM for "Tom and Jerry" and "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

In 1997, Tom and his wife, Brenda, opened their own animation studio, The Very Idea, Inc., where they specialize in logo animation, as well as create and produce television and feature film projects. Tom also does oil painting, and creates mixed media paintings of some of the world’s favorite characters. He resides in southern California where he also teaches animation.
