Tony Bechara (1942–)
Tony Bechara was born in Puerto Rico in 1942.After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree at Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., Bechara traveled to Paris where he studied at the Sorbonne. In the early 1960's, he returned to the United States and continued his studies with Richard Serra and Joseph Raphael. His works have been exhibited in many one-man and group exhibitions, including shows at the Apollon Gallerie de Insel, Munich; Whitney Museum of American Art, Brooklyn Museum, Queens Museum, New York and Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Ridgefield, Ct. Museum and public collections include El Museo del Barrio, New York; Albright College, Reading, Pa.; St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, In. and Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Ridgefield, Ct.
